How billing works
- Minutes are counted while a conversation is live and rounded up to the whole minute.
- Top up from $20. Credits never expire, and there is no subscription to cancel.
- Standard voices are included. Premium voices are billed separately, by the characters your assistant actually speaks — the rates are shown in your console before you choose one.
- Your first top-up moves you from Free to pay as you go: the free monthly minutes stop and every free-plan limit lifts.
- If your balance reaches zero, new conversations pause until you top up. Your visitors see a neutral “unavailable” message — never a billing notice.
- Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Every account starts free with 60 minutes a month and no credit card. It is built for testing: each conversation ends after 5 minutes, and you get one assistant, one conversation at a time, and free voices in 8 languages.
Why do free conversations end after 5 minutes?
The free plan is for trying Selvia AI, not for serving customers. Real customer conversations often run longer than five minutes, so when you go live, move to pay as you go — there is no cap on conversation length there.
What does pay as you go cost?
$0.03 per minute of live conversation, with the avatar, speech recognition, voice, AI brain, knowledge base and per-user memory all included. With standard voices, a $20 top-up covers about 666 minutes — just over 11 hours of conversation.
What is the difference between pay as you go and render-only?
Pay as you go is the complete assistant: it listens, thinks, remembers and answers. Render-only is just our photoreal avatar — you send it audio from your own speech, language-model and voice pipeline, and it speaks with matching lip-sync and expression. It is for developers who already have their own AI stack, and it is priced at $0.025 per minute.
Do credits expire?
No. Prepaid credits stay on your account for as long as it is open. There is no monthly subscription and nothing to cancel.
What happens when my balance runs out?
New conversations pause until you top up. Your visitors see a neutral “unavailable” message, never a note about billing, and your console and notifications tell you straight away.
How are premium voices charged?
Standard voices are included in the per-minute price. Premium voices are billed separately, based on the characters your assistant actually speaks, so a quiet session costs less than a talkative one. Rates for each voice are shown in your console before you pick it.
How does kiosk pricing work?
A kiosk is an always-on avatar on a physical screen — a lobby, store or event stand — built for noisy public spaces. It is a flat $1 per hour however much people talk to it, and our team sets it up with you.
