The Coherence Engine

Presence is coherence. Building the felt sense that someone is truly there.

A digital human does not fail because a single frame is imperfect. It fails the moment its faculties fall out of phase — when the expression lags the words, when the reply comes a beat too late, when it forgets you, when it answers the room instead of you. In that instant the illusion of someone being there collapses. That collapse has a name in physics — decoherence — and it is the real name of the uncanny valley.

Most of the field is chasing photorealism. We believe presence is not a rendering problem. It is a coherence problem: the felt sense that someone is truly present emerges only when every faculty stays phase-locked, in real time, all at once. Solving that is the whole of our research.

The Coherence Engine is our real-time system for holding a digital human together. It is built from four proprietary pillars, each responsible for one faculty of presence.

Our thesis

The hard, unsolved problem in digital humans is not a prettier face. It is presence held together in real time — expressive, instant, personal, and focused — all at once, and affordably enough to run at scale. Coherence is not a feature of the product. Coherence is the product.
